The emigration centre that is located in Ashford has just recently announced that it has had to suspend some of its staff. The Millbank centre claims that these suspensions came after the staff showed inappropriate behavior.

This Kent County Council run emigration centre actually houses up to 50 youngsters that are aged between 16 and 18 years. It is said that these youngsters have entered into the country at the Port of Dover without any parents. The very young asylum seekers, many of which come from Afghanistan and Iraq, will now be spending up to three months at the Millbank Emigration centre while their cases are assessed individually.

The suspension came just after some sources accused staff of cuddling and touching the young emigrants. It was even said that the staff would take them home on occasions. The allegations emerged just after a text message was sent to one of the residents at the centre by a member of the staff. The text message simply asked the asylum seeker to meet the staff member outside.

Since the young asylum seeker was not good with English, he asked someone to translate the message for him. One source noted that if the young lad had spoken better English, then no one would have ever caught on to what was going on. It just goes to show that some of the smallest things can sometimes blow stories wide open.

The five staff members that were involved in the allegations have denied that anything was going on. However, the cases are still being investigated. More information on this case will come out in the near feature.
